The Sound and the Jury Contest at ACL Music Fest introduced us to Homer Hiccolm & the Rocketboys and nelo, two indie bands with hearts as big as the great outdoors. Now they’re taking it to the street on the Dell Lounge Tour, a short, sweet spin through the heartland. Stay tuned — with exclusive footage and other fanfare, they’ll show you firsthand what life on the road is like. Don’t forget your toothbrush.

nelo (rhymes with “hello”) are in Austin hard at work on their upcoming studio album, scheduled for release early next year on Pedernales Records. Runners-up from
the 2007 S & J Contest, nelo crafts the kind of folk-inspired pop that makes them a natural choice for the Dell Lounge Tour. nelo’s myspace will make you want presale

Homer Hiccolm & the Rocketboys

Digging deep into atmospheric riffs with indie hooks, these six guys from Abilene, TX have been capturing audiences everywhere they strum a chord. First they took the Dell Stage at the 2007 ACL Music Fest by storm, thanks to the
S & J Contest. Then they dropped the “Sing, Bird, Sing” EP and rocked South Padre International Music Festival. Want more? Take a look at their myspace.
